Better Health - Every Mind Matters

This is a rolling campaign and resource network backed by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities that focuses on promoting mental well-being. It is designed to empower people to look after their mental well-being and support that of others.

They run yearly offshoot campaigns that focus on the three main areas below.

  • Loneliness: primarily aimed at the concept of ‘Lift Someone Out of Loneliness’, knowing that this will likely help individuals own feelings of loneliness
  • Get Active For Mental Health: Focused on how regular physical activity can have a significant impact on reducing the symptoms of anxiety and improving mental wellbeing
  • Find Your Little Big Thing: Focused on highlighting that ‘doing the little things can make a big difference to your mental health

The broader ongoing campaign addresses various subclinical mental health issues, such as anxiety, low mood, stress, and sleep difficulties, while also promoting proactive self-care for mental well-being. In addition, the campaign provides a continuous range of free mental health resources to support both individual and communal mental health care. For example:

  • Mind Plan: Individuals get a free, NHS-approved personalised mental health action plan by completing a short online questionnaire.
  • Email Service: 4-week and 8-week email programmes, where the users receive reminders, swap in new tips, and are encouraged to make looking after their mental wellbeing part of their everyday routine.
  • Practical Advice and Tips: Self-help CBP techniques, mindfulness guidance, meditation techniques and much more.
  • Support for families: A range of resources and expert guidance, specifically designed for parents and caregivers.
  • Signposting: Guidance and help to find the NHS services that will best help your needs.
